1 . The Big Buddha

The Phuket Big Buddha, also known as The Great Buddha of Phuket, is a seated statue of the Maravija Buddha in Phuket, Thailand. It is the third-tallest statue in Thailand, following the Great Buddha of Thailand and Luangpho Yai. The Buddha, originally a prince, renounced his royal life to become enlightened and teach the Dharma. His teachings emphasize avoiding evil, doing good, and purifying the mind, which Buddhist followers believe brings harmony and happiness.
A plot of land on Mount Nagakerd, with beautiful views of Phuket and the nearby Kittisangkharam Temple, was donated by devoted Buddhists to enshrine the graceful Buddha statue. This statue serves as a form of respect to the Buddha, a way to make merit, and a center for spreading Buddha’s Dharma in the community.
2. Wat Chalong

Wat Chalong, or Chalong Temple, was built at the beginning of the 19th century. It is the largest and most visited temple in Phuket. Many locals and Thai tourists come to pray and pay respects to several revered monks who founded Wat Chalong, including Luang Pho Cham and Luang Pho Chuang. These two monks led the citizens of the Chalong Subdistrict in fighting against the Chinese rebellion in 1876 and used their knowledge of herbal medicine to help the injured.

3. Sino-European Architecture Building

Phuket is one of Thailand's oldest cities with a rich history. It was an important port on the west of the Malay Peninsula where overseas Chinese settlers established businesses, especially in cassiterite mining. Phuket was once ruled by Portugal and Holland, making it a cultural hub where these influences met. The old buildings in Phuket town, built over a hundred years ago during the mining boom, showcase a unique "Sino-European" architectural style, combining European and Chinese elements.
These historic buildings, located on Thalang Road, Deebook Road, Phang-nga Road, Yaowarat Road, and Krabi Road, reflect the town's cultural prosperity. They serve as city hall, provincial court, Siam City Bank, offices, and residences, well-maintained by the new generation. To allow tourists to appreciate these structures and local daily life, Phuket city municipality offers walking tours through the old part of the city.
4. Karon Beach

Karon Beach in Phuket is one of the island's longest beaches, stretching 5 km with fine white sand and views of the Andaman Sea. The northern end is usually empty, perfect for those seeking solitude. During the high season (November to April), the water is crystal-clear with few waves. However, from May to October, the beach can have dangerous swells and riptides, so heed the lifeguards' warnings and be cautious.
Sea turtles often lay their eggs on the beach at night. If you spot turtles or their tracks, notify your hotel so they can contact the Phuket Marine Biological Centre. This organization’s Sea Turtle Conservation Project rescues injured turtles and incubates eggs to help the population grow.
5. Khao Sok National Park

Freedom Beach in Phuket is a 300-meter-long white sand beach near Patong. It's located in a beautiful bay with granite rocks and jungle-covered hills. The beach is difficult to access, but the effort is rewarded with a peaceful and exclusive spot.
Visitors can sunbathe, play beach soccer with mini-goals, beach volleyball, and snorkel in the shallow waters at both ends of the beach, which are rich in marine life. There are no jet-skis or noisy activities, just the distant sound of long-tail boats.
Access to Freedom Beach is only by long-tail boat during the high season (December to June). The shortest route is from the southern end of Patong Beach near the big bridge at Amari Phuket. Boats can also be taken from Kata, Karon, or Kamala Beach, though these routes are longer and more expensive. From Patong Beach, round trip boat prices usually range from 1,200 to 1,500 baht, depending on the pilot and the number of passengers.
