English Literature BINUS UNIVERSITY Celebrates its 25th Anniversary
English Literature BINUS UNIVERSITY has just celebrated its 25th Anniversary. On November 14, 2021, BINUS UNIVERSITY's English Literature Program celebrates its Silver Anniversary in a Halloween themed 25th Anniversary Celebration.聽
This event was hosted by Ruben and Shavira, English Literature Alumni alumni, and VIP guests, namely Zilvia Iskandar, Sonia Fergina, Dr Meyliana S.Kom. , M.M. 鈥� Vice Rector of Global Employability and Entrepreneurship Dr. Elisa Carolina Marion S.S. , M.Si. as Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Mr. Irfan Rifai as Head of English Literature Program, and Mr. Matthew Kelvin as Head of Business and Development at BINUS UNIVERSITY Alumni Association.
This event was attended by various lecturers and alumni, and was enlivened with door prizes. At the opening of this event, Dr. Elisa Carolina Marion, S.S., M.Sc. as the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities gave remarks and congratulations for the English Literature Program. He hopes that the English Literature alumni bond will be stronger and can continue to contribute to the archipelago.
"We really hope that the alumni bond of the English literature family will be stronger, strengthen each other, can continue to be committed to fostering and empowering society!" concluded Mrs. Elisa.

English Literature The BINUS UNIVERSITY program was established in 1996 (D3), and has succeeded in becoming a bachelor's degree in 1999 until now. The English Literature Program also underwent several name changes, such as the faculty of literature, the faculty of language and culture, and the faculty of humanities (until now). From this presentation, Mrs. Wiwik also displayed various old school photos, various photos of struggles such as magazines, achievements, etc. made by English Literature students, as well as the Head of Department in this department. The first Head of Department, and so on from the English Literature department, also came, such as Mrs. Ruth S. Kinanti. Mrs. Risa R. Simanjuntak, and Mr. Irfan.
Furthermore, Mr. Matthew also congratulated these English Literature celebrations. 鈥淲ith BINUS UNIVERSITY getting more and more successful, we are also proud. I am sure, with this close alumni bond, it can become our common strength. Once again, congratulations to everyone!鈥� Mr Matthew's message. In his remarks, Mr. Matthew also explained what the benefits of BINUS UNIVERSITY alumni are, what IKA-BINUS helps, etc.
The event was continued with games and a talkshow hosted by Dr. Andreas Account, Zilvia Iskandar 鈥� Metro Tv Presenter, and Sonia Fergina 鈥� model and Miss Indonesia 2018, as well as Miss Universe finalists. In this talk show, they tell each other about their experiences while on campus, the struggles of their achievements, and the beautiful moments during college. Zilvia and Sonia also greeted each other's lecturers and other guests, while remembering the old days. The talk show ended with a question and answer session, and a group photo.
The alumni also received an explanation about how English Literature is now, which was explained by Mr. Irfan, accompanied by a video of remarks from the President of BIKA majoring in English Literature, Ms. Santy Muliawan. In her remarks, Ms. Santy asked to appreciate the hard work of the committees who tried to gather them all, and to participate in strengthening the organization of the English Literature alumni association by supporting and joining BIKA.
"Let's contribute together, giving back to English literature that has made us the cool scholars we are today." Mrs. Santy's message.
Finally, Mr. Rudi Hartono Manurung as BINUS ALUMNI RELATION OFFICE, gave the latest updates from BINUS UNVIERSITY to alumni, and explained the importance and what contributions of BINUS Alumni Relation Office.
The event was closed with a door prize, and hopefully with this reunion, the alumni can release their longing, gain new insight and motivation, and be able to live life more enthusiastically. Hopefully BINUS UNVIERSITY will be able to create other great alumni from all majors, and be able to contribute even more to Indonesia!
