Sales of Bakrie Sumatera Plantations (UNSP) grew 56.05% in semester I-2021

Palm oil issuer PT Bakrie Sumatera Plantations Tbk (UNSP) posted an increase in sales in the first semester of 2021.


Based on the company's financial report as of June 30, 2021, UNSP's net sales increased by 56.05% to Rp 1.77 trillion, from Rp 1.13 trillion as of June 30, 2020. The company's net sales are based on market, including domestic and export sales of Rp 934 billion and Rp 840.51 billion, respectively.


The growth in sales in the first semester of 2021 prompted an increase in cost of goods sold by 27.81 percent, from Rp 1.02 trillion to Rp 1.30 trillion. Until last June, UNSP posted a selling expense of Rp 57.25 billion. That number increased by 63% from the previous Rp 35.12 billion in the same period in 2020.


On the other hand, general and administrative expenses managed to fall slightly by 0.7% to Rp. 177.71 billion as of June 2021. Meanwhile, as of June 2020, UNSP's general and administrative expenses were recorded at Rp. 179.11 billion.


Thus, in semester I-2021 UNSP recorded a net loss attributable to owners of the parent entity of Rp 238.24 billion, down 38.35% from the loss in semester I-2020 of Rp 386.50 billion.
