Willemien Bloemink is the pseudonym of Emmeline Backhuys (Rotterdam 1970). She grew up in Rotterdam and Oegstgeest. Emmeline studied theology and medicine in Leiden. She trained as a general practitioner in England (Cambridge). Her debut novel 'De geur van witte fresia's' is a personal story with autobiographical features. She started writing on the advice of the local detective, who asked her to write down her story. Emmeline is a general practitioner, coach and above all proud mother of three beautiful children.
