Al-Azhar Mosque Jakarta or better known as the Great Al-Azhar Mosque is a mosque in South Jakarta City, Special Capital Region of Jakarta Province, Indonesia. This mosque, which is owned by the Al-Azhar Islamic Boarding School Foundation which was originally established specifically to build this mosque and its surroundings, was built between 1953–1958. Initially, this mosque was the largest mosque in Jakarta during its construction, before that title was taken over by the Istiqlal Mosque in 1978.
