The Arjuna Wijaya Statue, also known as the Monument For You, Indonesia, stands proudly at the junction of Jalan MH Thamrin and Jalan Medan Merdeka, a majestic portrayal crafted by the esteemed Indonesian sculptor I Nyoman Nuarta of Tabanan, Bali. Commissioned around 1987 following President Soeharto's state visit from Turkey, this masterpiece embodies the epic narrative of the Mahabharata. Depicting Arjuna and Lord Krishna atop a chariot drawn by eight horses, symbolizing the Asta Brata philosophies of leadership, the monument immortalizes the timeless struggle against adversity. With around 40 artists contributing to its creation in Bandung, West Java, the sculpture serves as a poignant reminder of Indonesia's rich cultural heritage and the enduring values of courage and resilience in the face of adversity.
