The Jakarta History Museum, also known as the Fatahillah Museum, is located in the former City Hall in Jakarta Kota, near the Sunda Kelapa port. Formerly known as the Stadhuis, this building served as the administrative center for the Dutch East India Company and later the Dutch Government. Built in 1710 by Governor General van Riebeeck, the museum showcases Jakarta's history from prehistoric times to the founding of Jayakarta. Its collection includes a replica of the Tugu Inscription from the 5th century, reflecting influences from the Tarumanegara kingdom as well as European, Chinese, Indian, and Indonesian cultures. To enliven Old Batavia, the Jakarta Government organizes cultural performances every Sunday, featuring Zapin dance, Barongsai lion dance, keroncong music, Tanjidor music, vintage car parades, batik exhibitions, food, souvenirs, and fireworks.
