Ishtar Gate was the 8th gate of the Babylonian city. It was built around 575 BC by order of King Nebuchadnezzar II on the north side of the city. It was originally considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World until it was replaced by the Iskandariyah Lighthouse in the 6th century.
