    Itsukushima Shrine is a UNESCO World Heritage Site cultural heritage site registered since 1996. Several buildings in the Itsukushima shrine complex and heirloom objects owned by Itsukushima shrine, including the Heike N艒ky艒 silk, are listed as National Treasures of Japan. The Heike N艒ky艒 Sutra belonging to Itsukushima Temple was a gift from the Taira clan in 1164.
