    The Great Mosque of Central Java is the largest and most magnificent and is an icon and pride of the people of the province. This mosque is also one of the largest mosques in Indonesia. This magnificent mosque was inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2004-2009 period, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, by signing an inscription made of natural stone 3.2 meters high and weighing 7.8 tons. This natural stone is imported from the slopes of Mount Merapi.
