Mukaigawara Church was started with the desire and prayer to somehow etch the teachings of Christ into the hearts of these children. On October 24, 1951, the first "Bible Study Group" was held at NEC's Tamagawa Hall, which was started with the cooperation of the pastor of Omori Church (Japan Christian Church). LaQua Music Mission (American Methodist Church) was also started here in 1954, and through mutual cooperation, in 1957 it began its journey as the ``Religious Corporation Japan United Church of Christ Mukaigawara Church''. The following year, in 1958, with the support of many American churches, they purchased land and dedicated a chapel in 1959. It became the current new hall in December 2001.
