Nagahara Church was established in October 1932 by the late Rev. Kizo Yamamoto in his home as a mission station, and is a church of the United Church of Christ in Japan that descends from the Reformed Presbyterianism of Calvinism. After the late Pastor Yoshio Okawa, Associate Pastor Akemi Okawa, and Pastor Kazumasa Nomura , Pastor Yoji Ogawa has been appointed since 2014. Worship is observed with the sound of the tower bell and the music of the pipe organ.
