Pha That Luang is a Buddhist stupa in Vientiane, Laos. Originally built in 1566 by King Setthathirat, this 147-foot tall Buddhist monument was built in three tiers to represent the path to enlightenment. With each tier the student learns more Buddhist teachings, narrows their focus, and comes closer to enlightenment.
