Simtokha Dzong, located near Thimphu, Bhutan, is one of the oldest fortresses in the country, built in 1629 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. Known as the "Palace of the Profound Meaning of Secret Mantras," it served as a religious and administrative center.
