Heppy Wulansari, Acting Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, explained that the adjustment of non-subsidized fuel prices has been implemented by all fuel providers since early August 2024. According to Heppy, with this adjustment, the price of Pertamax is now IDR 13,700 per liter (for regions with a 5% fuel tax).

"Like other fuel providers, Pertamina has also adjusted the price of non-subsidized fuel. The adjustments were made gradually. Previously, other non-subsidized fuel products such as Pertamax Turbo, Pertamax Green 95, and the Dex Series were adjusted in early August," Heppy stated in an official release on Monday, August 12, 2024.
Heppy further explained that Pertamina's decision to adjust non-subsidized fuel prices also takes into account economic stability. Although the Indonesian Crude Price (ICP) has been rising since the end of the first quarter, Pertamina Patra Niaga's non-subsidized fuel prices have remained unchanged since March 2024.
He noted that Pertamina's current fuel prices are among the most affordable, as the company's main consideration is the purchasing power of the public.
"The pricing has been set in accordance with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Decree No. 245.K/MG.01/MEM.M/2022, which amends Decree No. 62/K/12/MEM/2020 regarding the pricing formula for general fuel types (JBU) or non-subsidized fuel. We ensure that these prices remain the most competitive for products of comparable quality," Heppy added.
Not only Pertamina, but Shell Indonesia also raised the prices of several of its fuel products. As of August 1, 2024, Shell Super is priced at IDR 14,520 per liter, up from IDR 13,810 per liter. Meanwhile, the price of Shell V Power has increased from IDR 14,700 per liter to IDR 15,370 per liter. The price of Shell V Power Diesel has risen from IDR 15,329 per liter to IDR 15,810 per liter.
