Manager of Public Relations for LRT Jabodebek, Mahendro Trang Bawono, stated that the trial of additional trips is being conducted to meet the increasing demand from passengers. This is evident from the 17% increase in the number of passengers in July 2024 compared to the previous month. On weekdays, the average number of users reaches 75,694 passengers, while on weekends, it reaches 35,789 passengers.
"We are striving to adjust the LRT Jabodebek services to the growing needs of our users, and we believe this step will further enhance the comfort and efficiency of users' journeys," he said in a written statement on Monday (August 5, 2024).
The addition of trip frequencies will reduce the wait time between trains (headway) on the LRT Jabodebek routes, with the headway between Jatimulya-Dukuh Atas and Harjamukti-Dukuh Atas being shortened to 10 minutes. Meanwhile, the headway on the Cawang-Dukuh Atas route will be reduced to 5 minutes. Previously, the headway on these three routes during peak hours ranged from 5.5 to 11 minutes.
